The LA-based four piece of Donald Eley, Tiger Smith, Jutty Shark and Jules Bellin began playing as a band only last summer, a home recording project that came together over a love of rhythmic tropical funk and melodic synth pop.
 
Over the course of the two songs here, Blacks& point towards a host of influences - from their reverb drenched vocals, West African syncopated guitars, the funk and hip hop inspired snap of the drums and the 70’s AM pop of Todd Rundgren Read More + Rundgren – but they easily transcend them to create something that’s overflowing with melody and warmth.
 
Since their humble beginnings Blacks& have carved out a large following on LA’s live circuit, playing everywhere from summer parties to heaving, sweaty clubs.
