Flux Of Pink Indians were an anarcho-punk band active from 1980-1986.
Formed from the ashes of “The Epileptics” by Colsk Latter (Vocals), and Derek Birkett (Bass), with the addition of Andy Smith and Neil Puncher (Guitars), and Sid Ation (Drums). In 1981 the band signed to Crass Records, releasing their debut EP “Neu Smell” the same year, featuring indie hit “Tube Disaster”. In 1982, their debut album “Strive To Survive Causing Least Suffering Possible” was released.
Their second album, 1983’s “The Fucking Cunts Treat Us Like Pricks” was banned by multiple retailers, and Mancunian record shop “Eastern Bloc” was charged with displaying “Obscene Articles For Publication and Gain”.
By 1986, the band were now calling themselves “Flux”, and they released their third album “Uncarved Block”, produced by Adrian Sherwood.
Flux disbanded the following year, with several members going on to from “Hotalacio” and Derek Birkett going on to set up One Little Indian Records.
